Home energy upgrades to reduce energy bills

The Latrobe Valley Home Energy Upgrade Program will help Latrobe Valley residents reduce their energy bills by providing $5 million for practical energy efficiency upgrades to their homes.

The program will help up to 1,000 homes in greatest need in the Latrobe City, Wellington and Baw Baw region – with household upgrades of up to $4,500 available.

It will provide access to tailored packages of solar PV or solar hot water, and other improvements such as efficient lighting, at no cost.

This will support skills development and generate business in the Latrobe Valley and wider region by using local businesses, trades, and products to deliver home energy assessments and upgrades.

It will support households in greatest need to reduce their energy costs. Those eligible for the program will receive a home energy assessment to determine the best way to make changes around their home to reduce energy bills, before selecting a suitable upgrade package from a local program provider.

The Latrobe Valley Authority and Sustainability Victoria will work closely with local community, government and business stakeholders to refine details of the program. Further details will be made available by late April 2017, with upgrades taking place in the second half of 2017.

Register your interest in the program here.  Applicants will receive updates as soon as applications are open.

Local businesses, trades and services are also encouraged to register their interest in being involved in the program.
