Encouraging jobs and investment for renewable energy and new energy technologies in the Latrobe Valley.
The Prospectus highlights opportunities for international, domestic and local businesses to invest in Victoria’s new energy transition in the Latrobe Valley. The Prospectus focuses on the Latrobe Valley’s clean energy potential, existing supply chain and workforce capabilities and the market for new energy technologies and services for industry and investors.
The Prospectus outlines the key features of the Latrobe Valley that businesses can benefit from, including its extensive electricity infrastructure and transmission network, strong renewable energy resources, and a skilled workforce. The Prospectus also showcases companies that are already investing and creating jobs in the Valley.
The Prospectus also summarises the Victorian Government’s comprehensive suite of policies to support business investment, create local jobs and increase the market for new energy technologies in the region.

Call for submissions
The Latrobe Valley New Energy Jobs and Investment Prospectus, developed in consultation with local businesses and our community highlights the Latrobe Valley’s extensive renewable energy resource potential, our skilled workforce and vital energy infrastructure. It encourages investment in small, medium and large-scale renewable energy and new energy technology projects and businesses in the Latrobe Valley.
The Prospectus identifies and promotes opportunities for international, domestic and local businesses to invest in the Latrobe Valley under three broad areas: clean energy resources, energy supply chain and workforce capabilities, and markets for new energy products and services.
The Latrobe Valley Authority is now calling for your submissions.
We are keen to learn about business projects and ideas that may build local capacity to deliver renewable energy and new energy technology projects in the Baw Baw, Wellington and Latrobe City council areas, and to further build our supply chain networks and services.
Submissions need to:
- less than 1000 words
- include a summary of the project or idea
- outline the projects current status or stage of development
- anticipated costs involved and
- how it contributes to a strong new energy future for Latrobe Valley.
Submissions must be made by Friday 21 September 2018.
