Grand Ridge Rail Trail Committee of Management has been approved for a grant of $5,000 under the LVA’s Community Facility Fund.
The funding will enable the volunteers to clear, unblock, restore and replace 100 year-old brick railway culverts along the 13-kilometre Rail Trail between Mirboo North and Boolarra.
The project will guarantee the continued sustainability of the former railway reserve, which is popular with walkers, joggers, cyclists, visitors and equestrian users.
The Latrobe Valley Authority’s Community Facility Fund supports great initiatives and projects that help to make the Latrobe Valley a great place to live and work, and to improve the health and wellbeing of those who live here.
