Success for Morwell Centenary of ANZAC Concert

Funding from the Latrobe Valley Authority’s Community Facility Fund helped to promote the hugely successful Morwell Centenary of ANZAC Concert on Wednesday 28 June held Kernot Hall, with hundreds of people attending the event.

The event featured the Royal Australian Navy Band Melbourne and the Victoria Police Pipe Band, and brought out over 700 people on a cold evening.

Promotion of the event was assisted by a $1,000 grant from the Latrobe Valley Authority’s Community Facility Fund.

The Royal Australian Navy Band consists of 33 full-time members, singers and musicians, and provides musical support for Navy ceremonies, events and deployments – a great asset to the Royal Australian Navy.

The Victoria Police Pipe Band is made of 15 pipers and drummers and is Victoria’s Official State Band providing ceremonial and musical performances at Police and CFA graduations, ANZAC day services, Blue Ribbon Foundation fundraisers and community concerts.

Congratulations to the many volunteers who made the event a success, including members from 10 RSL clubs, three service clubs and 20 community organisations.
