Mawarra to extend workshop and create jobs

Disability employer and support centre, Mawarra expect to create seven new jobs after today being announced as the next funding recipient as part of the Latrobe Valley Economic Facilitation Fund.

Mawarra is an employer of people with disabilities, and runs three businesses including Country Kitchen Catering, Jigsaw Industries and Waratah Grounds Maintenance.

The funding will enable an extension to the Jigsaw Industries and Waratah Grounds Maintenance workshop at 3 Ryan Court in Warragul, as well as the creation of seven new jobs.

The $10 million Latrobe Valley Economic Facilitation Fund is growing existing and future industries, creating jobs and attracting new investment.

Latrobe Valley businesses, local government and the community are encouraged to work with Regional Development Victoria, Gippsland, to discuss how their projects may fit within the $40 million Latrobe Valley Economic Development Program.
