The Heyfield Bowling Club was granted $135,015 under the LVA Community Facility Fund toward the cost of the redevelopment and extension of the Heyfield Bowls Club.
The upgrades include repair to the dining room timber floor, carpet replacement, vinyl kitchen floor replacement, window coverings, installation of reverse cycle air-conditioning, new refrigerator, new oven, solar panel system, accessible toilets, women’s toilet upgrade and the construction of an outdoor entertainment area including a cool room.
This grant will secure the sustainability of the building for future community and social use, and maintain and grow the existing bowls competition.
The Club has also received a grant for $191,562 for replacement of the existing grass green at the west end of the Club with a synthetic surface.
The project includes removal of the existing grass green and excavate drainage lines, new plinth installed, install crushed rock, and install of new underlay and Tiger Turf BowlsWeave woven surface.
