Willow Grove Recreation Reserve
Baw Baw Shire Council have received a $71,750 grant for construction of a new multi-purpose, match day pavilion at the Willow Grove Recreation Reserve.
The project includes a 37 square metre, common room (8.02m x 4.63m) and accessible family toilet, change room and shower within the broader construction project.
The broader pavilion project will also provide the reserve user groups and the community with a new, safe, high quality, complaint and multi-use pavilion suitable for a range of different users and genders.
The new facility will enable greater access to sport and increased participation for women and girls especially for Netball, Tennis and AFL which do not currently exist at the site.
Construction of an equipment storage shed and the installation of an oval irrigation system is also being supported by a $86,250 grant from the LVA’s Community Facility Fund.
The project will provide the reserve user groups and the community with a safe and playable surface all year round. This will encourage improved participation, scheduling and programming of the oval by clubs, schools and community organisations.
The project will also lower the workload of volunteers by providing an easily accessible, central site for the storage of all the maintenance equipment and sporting gear used at the reserve. This will also free up rooms and under cover space at the reserve currently being used for this purpose.
