This week announced the Victorian Government reached agreement with all three local power generators to participate in the landmark Worker Transfer Scheme which will provide local job opportunities for Hazelwood workers.
As part of this Scheme, the Victorian Government has committed funding to provide financial incentives for the power generators to employ Hazelwood workers and eligible contractors.
AGL, who successfully obtained ATO approval, have commenced running an early retirement scheme that will open up a range of positions at Loy Yang A. We anticipate that Engie and Energy Australia will also have their schemes up and running shortly.
Vacancies for positions at the power generators will be advertised through the companies’ normal recruitment processes. We are also working closely with the power generators to be able to provide you with up-to date information about job opportunities as they arise.
