The Community and Facility Fund is closed.

Please note that this fund closed on 28 November 2019 and is no longer receiving applications.

Since 2016 the Latrobe Valley Authority’s (LVA) $20 million Community and Facility Fund has supported 180 different community groups to undertake more than 200 projects across the greater Latrobe Valley region.

In addition to facility upgrades, the Fund has supported almost 50 local events such as the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival, and events supporting communities affected by drought or bushfire, youth and science activities, scouting and sporting activities, music, sculpture, cooking, culturally diverse communities and large community gatherings.

Clubs that have benefited from the funding report increased membership and participation. Improved facilities have led to more activity and increased use by the community, which in turn has helped to improve the income of community groups. In particular, funding for water and energy saving measures have led to significant cost savings – allowing clubs to invest these savings into facility improvements. The investment has also generated a significant amount of work through the use of local contractors.
