Business grants to create 110 jobs

An additional six local businesses have received funding through Regional Development Victoria’s Latrobe Valley Economic Facilitation Fund to grow and diversify, creating 110 new jobs.

Steelvision will create 53 new jobs as they set up a new precast concrete and manufacturing facility in Morwell as part of a $3.6 million investment. The project will involve modifying and upgrading the building, investing in new plant and equipment, and new high capacity concrete plumbing equipment to construct precast concrete panel beds and high security moulds for prefabricated cells used in in the correctional services sector.

Radford and Son – $1.4 million project to upgrade plant and equipment creating 16 new jobs in Warragul, including reconfiguring beef and sheep processing; installing air conditioning, cladding/insulation, and conveyor rail supports; upgrading the beef chiller, freezing and ice machine capacity, and loading dock and vehicle access; adjusting the beef floor rail height and configuration; and replacing the packing and labelling print terminal.

Gippsland CNC – $1.84 million project to relocate and expand the business creating 17 new full time jobs in Morwell. The project includes fit out of a new facility, purchase of a five tonne crane, new laser cutting and Plasma/Oxy cutting equipment, as well as installation of a warehouse infrastructure and management system. This will allow precision cutting of larger sheets of metal, and mean the company can target new markets and offer more services to existing customers.

Elite Pack – A $375,000 upgrade project which will create five new jobs in Drouin by December 2018. Works include the purchase and installation of two new ice pack machines, a vacuum pad machine, box wrapper and machine conveyors. The project will allow the company to increase manufacturing efficiency and productivity, and ensure that the company remains competitive in its existing markets and is and able to enter new markets.

Quality Motorcycle Training – QMT are leasing land in Haunted Hills Road, Newborough to develop a purpose built facility specifically designed for motorcycle training. Funding for the $120,000 project will create 5 new jobs in Newborough.

Gippsland Greenhouse Produce – $2.2 million glasshouse expansion project to allow for increased production of eggplant at the company’s Yarragon site, creating up to 14 new jobs by year three at full production.
