The members at the Country Women Association (CWA) Warragul Branch are today celebrating the completion of an upgrade project at the clubrooms thanks to a $36,431 grant provided by the LVA's Community and Facility Fund.
Upgrades included a kitchen re-fit, installation of ceiling insulation, heating and cooling upgrades, electrical upgrades, rear fence replacement, new floor coverings and a DDA compliant toilet.
It will allow the CWA to introduce new activities such as cooking demonstrations and learning to cook classes.
The clubrooms are also used by a range of local community groups including Toastmasters, Hallmark Jewellery and a craft group.
During the upgrade project, a number of local contractors were engaged including KG & TJ Builder, Andrew Gallagher Cabinet Maker P/L, Choices by Watsons, Bibby Vin Electrics P/L, Janda Plumbing & Gas Fitter, Baw Baw Refrigeration & Air Conditioning and AAD Fencing.
“Our Community and Facility Fund is supporting a range of fantastic community projects that are improving the amenity and liveability of the Latrobe Valley region," said Latrobe Valley Authority CEO, Karen Cain.
