Gippsland Women in New Energy - Launch

27 March 2024

Recognise, celebrate and empower Gippsland women in the new energy sector

Launching Gippsland Women in New Energy (GWNE) on International Women's Day aligned perfectly with the day's 2024 theme of Count Her In: Invest in Women. Accelerate Progress.

GWNE is a new initiative committed to empowering women in the new energy sector across the region, fostering a network that promotes development, mentorship, recognition, and collaboration.

The launch and networking luncheon was the first of many upcoming opportunities for Gippsland women in the new energy sector, fostering an environment where women can thrive in and lead the energy transition in our region and beyond.

Over lunch, Chief Executive Officer of Gippsland Women's Health, Kate Graham, led a diverse and engaging discussion with Di VanderMerwe - Head of People and Culture AGL, Andy McCarthy - Founder and CEO AJ McCarthy Consulting, and Amelia Hanscombe - Director, Legal Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners.

Gippsland has a unique opportunity in this new era of transformation in our energy sector to ensure diversity and inclusion is a priority from the start.
