2023 Ladder Latrobe Valley graduation

We were thrilled to join the celebrations for graduates of the Ladder Step Up Latrobe Valley program recently.

Ladder is an AFL community initiative backed by all 1100 AFL players, male and female, that provides young people (16-25 years) with unique opportunities to achieve their goals through tailored development and mentoring programs.

Delivered in Gippsland with support from the LVA, the intensive 6-week program builds independence and confidence in young people and supports them to explore and engage in education, training and employment, and to build their social connections.

It was great to hear this group of graduates talk about their experiences and aspirations; it’s clear they’ve already achieved a lot through participating in the program and are looking forward to the future.

Ladder Latrobe Valley focuses on skills and decision making associated with independent living, health and wellbeing, financial management and strengthening connection within local communities.

Staff and coaches are committed to and invested in the success of these young people and have been instrumental in forging strong relationships with local businesses, generating valuable work experience and training opportunities.

Ladder is changing lives in the Latrobe Valley. With around 240 participants graduating Ladder Step Up Latrobe Valley since the program began in 2018 the future’s looking very bright for these young people and for the region.
