The Legislative Council’s Economy and Infrastructure Committee inquiry into the closure of the Hazelwood and Yallourn power Station is examining the impact of the closure of the power stations on the economy and jobs in the Latrobe Valley. The inquiry is also examining the effectiveness of the Latrobe Valley Authority in helping the region transition.
The Committee held a hearing in Traralgon on Wednesday March 2 with witnesses including Chris Buckingham, Chief Executive Officer, Latrobe Valley Authority and Sarah Rhodes-Ward, Regional Director, Regional Development Victoria Gippsland. You can read their transcript here.
