LVA welcomes netball super sizzler showdown July 2

The Latrobe Valley Authority (LVA) and Latrobe City Council are proud to partner with Netball Victoria’s premier state league netball competition, the Victorian Netball League (VNL) to present the home and away game between Hawks Netball and Southern Saints on Saturday July 2, 2022 at the Gippsland Regional Indoor Sports Stadium (GRISS).

The game will warm up the crowd before the national Australian Netball Championships take over Traralgon at the same venue in August Australian Netball Championships to take over Traralgon - Netball Australia.

Local Gippsland netball stars will fight it out playing for premiership winners Hawks versus Saints. The local players are from Traralgon, Warragul, Inverloch, Drouin and Dennison and Sale.Hawks Round 15

Chris Buckingham LVA CEO said: “This is a part of the VNL home and away season and it is the third attempt thanks to COVID. It’s going to be a fantastic game and we really encourage everyone to come along for a great night of netball and to bring a top netball competition to the region. We hope to make this an annual event.”

Mayor of Latrobe City Cr Kellie O’Callaghan said the event was a fantastic opportunity for the community to see elite-level netball being played in their own backyard.

“We’re looking forward to a fantastic weekend of netball in Latrobe City, with opportunities for our community to participate in clinics to learn new skills and be inspired.”

Saturday July 2 – Victorian Netball League Hawks versus Saints - Gippsland Regional Indoor Sports Stadium (GRISS).

Game Times:

  • 19 & Under - 4pm
  • Division 1 - 5.30pm
  • Championship - 6.50pm
