Project Manager, Economic Future of Orbost District

The Orbost region is in transition, with significant changes occurring in the forestry, tourism and agricultural sectors, which form the corner stones of the region’s economy. Drought, bushfire and COVID-19 have also impacted the community in recent times.

The Chamber is seeking to employ a Project Manager who will work in partnership with State and Local Government and the community, to explore a new approach, that will build our understanding of the areas of future potential and development of the economy, to deliver a brighter future for the district.

This role will require proven experience in collaboration, building relationships and project management, preferably in an economic development setting. A relevant tertiary qualification or extensive experience is preferred.

The successful applicant will be based in Orbost and will require a good understanding of the East Gippsland region. The Project Manager will work collaboratively with project partners including the Latrobe Valley Authority, Forestry Community Transition, Regional Development Victoria, Bushfire Recovery Victoria, East Gippsland Shire Council, the Orbost & District Chamber of Commerce & Industry, business/industry and community.

Salary: $98,396 - $119,052 (plus superannuation)
