Valley Court Laundrette to expand

Valley Court Laundrette in Morwell is heading for significant expansion, including employing 15 more people, as a result of funding from Regional Development Victoria’s Economic Facilitation Fund.

The company’s existing workshop, administration and storage facilities will be re-fitted – while a new clean-room will be built.

Solar panels will be installed for energy efficiency and business sustainability, and new machines will wash and iron 300 sheets per hour – more than quadrupling the current throughput.

The company was significantly affected by the closure of Hazelwood Power Station. Through a business plan funded by the Hazelwood Supply Chain Transition Program, they identified the opportunity for a new flatwork linen processing facility to service hospitals, hospitality and aged care facilities, which has enabled them to retain their existing workforce of 10, and add another 15 jobs over the next three years.

Valley Court Laundrette is an industrial and commercial laundry that has operated in Morwell since 1993.
