A new integrated early learning centre will be built at Morwell Central Primary School, including rooms for a three and four year-old kindergarten program, as well as other services.
Also announced today, early parenting sessions and support will be available for all families with children aged 0-4 as part of the $9.9 million Supporting Families of the Latrobe Valley investment package.
Advice will be available on a range of topics such as sleep and settling, breastfeeding, supporting children’s wellbeing development, health, mental health and nutrition.
Eligible families will also have access to an additional 10 hours of enhanced maternal and child health services.
Construction of the new early learning centre is expected to start mid-2018 and will be ready for local families in 2019.
