Additional support for Latrobe Valley businesses

Latrobe Valley businesses will be further supported to grow and thrive, thanks to the $1 million Latrobe Valley Business and Industry Capability Fund - providing support to early-stage businesses across the region.

The Fund will be administered by the Latrobe Valley Authority and supports the Business Support Service which has engaged with more than 250 businesses from across the greater Latrobe Valley region since July 2019.

The Business Support Service is highly tailored and client-focused, with dedicated support staff known as Concierges based at Latrobe City Council, Wellington Shire Council, Baw Baw Shire Council and Latrobe Valley Authority.

Through close consultation with their local Concierge, early stage businesses in the Latrobe Valley may be eligible for funding for skills and capability building (including training, professional services and feasibility studies), infrastructure, equipment and collaborative business activities.

“The Business Support Service is a great partnership with local Council to provide businesses in the Latrobe Valley with the right support for them – whether that be through referrals, counselling or funding to help build their capability," said Latrobe Valley Authority CEO Karen Cain.

Funding for the program is only accessed through consultation with Concierges. Businesses are encouraged to first contact their local Concierge to determine what they need to grow their business.
