Since 2016 the Latrobe Valley Authority (LVA), as part of the $22.4 million Community and Facility Fund has supported more than 165 infrastructure projects to improve facilities and increase participation in sport and recreation and improve liveability in the Latrobe Valley.
On Saturday April 23, Yallourn Yallourn North Football Netball Club celebrated the completion of an LVA funded project which has built new Netball courts and installed Netball Victoria compliant sports lighting. A red tape was drawn across the new Netball court and Member for Eastern Victoria, Harriet Shing cut the ribbon.
Improved facilities have led to an increase in participation for Yallourn Yallourn Football Netball Club with membership increasing from 170 pre-COVID to 230 members this season.
